I just finished watching it after many years and it is still a great movie. It was loosely based on the gang rape of Cheryl Araujo.
It saddens me that even 25 years after the film brought to light how poorly the rape victims are treated in the "justice system" the fight continues.

ReplyDeleteI looked at the 2 links you provide. While I haven't heard of the story, it reminds me of a great American movie: "Heavens fall", which I watched again just recently with Deidra. Chilling to say the least, and while it is set a few decades ago, I don't think things have improved much since.
What a farcical kangaroo court the American judicial system is! Mind blowing. You'd think it's Somalia or some other retarded banana republic.
Mind you, it doesn't surprise me, as I myself experienced it first hand several times during the 2 years I lived in Tampa. Unbelievable. I've lived in 5 countries spread on 4 continents, my second spouse also lived in Japan for a year, and can tell you that I've never seen or heard of a justice system as fucked and rotten as in USA. I was harrassed many times by the fucking cops and even spent one night in Pinella's county jail.
If Stiletto ever gets her ass into gear and visits you in San Diego so that you girls can do a grand tour of the zoos and watch that cheetah running, I hope you girls have fun. While I'd love to share the experience and your companies, no force on earth or heaven will ever drive me to set my foot again on that fascist fucked country called USA, lol.
Oh well... I think I'm gonna watch anothe great movie and forget about the real world for a while, lol.
