Monday October 23 last day to register to vote in San Diego

more information from San Diego's Registrar of Voters here

I already have my ballot.

Question.

If we don't put the damn judges there to begin with and most of us don't run in the same social circles (to put it mildly) and Googling them is a waste of time because you have to pay for a
Westlaw subscription to find out anthing about them online, why do we have to vote on whether to let them stay there?

Yeesh.

No wonder people don't want to vote, it's kind of a pain, and feels sort of thankless. I don't know why, but voting on judges who fly through and rubber stamp plea bargained (or perhaps pre-ordained) cases makes me think of this
reverse Robin Hood shit that we have been subjected to and sucks syphlitic dick.

I'll bet if they gave people a day off to vote a lot of things would change, real quick-like, and people would do their homework (on their civic duty of voting responsibly) without complaint. I would.

I sure as hell don't use the
sheeple voter guide brought to you by the bend-over-and-spread-'em fishwrap.

  1. The site we use for Washington State has some examples of where to go to evaluate judges. Unless there's a similar site for California, voters will have to dig through all this stuff on their own. Still, look at votingforjudges.org for ideas, like Naral, Bar Associations, Women Lawyers etc. For the page that lists these resources add rating/index.html to the votingforjudges.org or go to the frequently asked questions page and link from there. I guess none of this may help. But, almost everyone asks the same question: How do you cast an intelligent vote for a judge, or the water commissioner for that matter? I don't know either but these resources help us here, -- but not for the water commissioner. Yes! It's a major pain. Great to see so many of us working to get this right this time though.

  4. azgoddess---Hey, how about "Survivor Ballot Box"...you know, kind of like the video taken in Ohio 2004? :)

Thanks for the compliment on the ziplocs. I sort of figured it out over the years. You ever notice how apartment managers never have shelving in the freezers? So I buy a couple of those silly little 4 x 6 x 8inch baskets and file away.
