  2. Fascinating article, sweetie pie; thanks for that. Lots of awesome data & figures in there; among many others, my personal favorite might be "Romney (who was reported to have paid no taxes for years on hundreds of millions in income)". Lololol, fuck me dead as we say down under. I mean, it's better to laugh than cry, right?

You know, I'm glad the article points out the state of the nordic European countries (Denmark, Scandinavia, etc), because they push social equality and fairness even a lot more than in France.

For instance, speaking strictly of wages (i.e. not including perks): the ratio in France of the highest to lowest wage is 30 to 1. In Sweden it's only 5 to 1, which leaves France looking rather barbaric. Fuck knows what it is in USA, prolly 100,000 to 1, lol.

What amazes me most is the gullibilty of the American public. I mean, in spite of blinding examples, they mostly continue to swallow the Republican pill which brainwashes them with the "alleged" fact that "increasing the humongous wealth of the richest ppl to obscene levels will in fact mean more jobs and more wealth for the ppl at the bottom of the social ladder". ROFLMAO.

I mean... it's simply fuckin' staggering. Why are American citizens so blind and gullible? I refuse to believe that the average American is fundamentally retarded and stupid beyond compare. I'm sure the average IQ is just the same in USA as it is in France, Sweden, Oz, China, Russia, etc etc.

So... what's the reason? Advanced techniques of mass brain washing?

Anyway... apart from that, how were your New Year festivities? Here, it was fucked, to put it midly; to start with, it's been raining non stop, every fuckin' day for 2 weeks. Next, I had a little accident while pushing the bed back against the wall with my tibia. I ended up being taken to the hospital by the fire service because I was litterally in agony. But x-rays showed no sign of breakage or even fracture; apparently, just a torn muscle. Gee, I never thought it could be as painful as that, and for that long (it's been a week ,now, and I can only barely start walking again).

I was going to go take a peek at Alternate Brain's rag, but after their little censorship episode, I think I'm going to give them a permanent miss. They are no better than the Repugs they criticise; their motto is "if we don't like your point of view, especially if it points out the flaws in our statement, we have the magic US military wand to fix that; WE DELETE YOUR COMMENT."; Plus "we make it look like it was deleted by the author of the comment."

    Low life hypocritical cunts!

Ok, my friend, must go. Love from me and Deidra.

  3. Cirze,

You strike me as someone with an astounding degree of perspicacity and intelligence; your comment in response to Nunya's article is a striking testimony of the feverish cerebral activity going on in your cranium cavity, lol. Is this all due to multiple lobotomies, or are you one of those born-again-brain-dead christians?

    Nunya,

The article is interesting, but I think that France isn't an outstanding example of economic stability. In fact, the entire European Union is. The reason is simple; it is mainly due to the introduction of the Euro currency and the strict control (regarding the printing and distribution of banknotes) the European Central Bank exercises.

It is not up to the individual countries of the EU to print their money; one might remember the days of the end of the 3rd Reich in Germany under Hitler, which resulted in the Deutschmark not even being worth the paper it was printed on. Ppl went to the bakery pushing a wheelbarrow full of banknotes, just to buy a loaf of bread. Thank goodness, those days are gone, and all the money is printed under strict supervision of the European Central Bank - located in Germany.

All in all, the European Union has been a wonderful step forward for humanity; not only has it put a final end to millenia of constant wars between countries, it has brought at long fucking last a relative prosperity an consistency of wealth to one of the most troubled spots on the planet for millenia.

Cirze, don't bother replying, just crawl back into your basement and go back into hibernation, please.

  4. Nunya,

"If you two cannot refrain from attacking my blogger friends I will simply delete and block you."

Wow, sounds like freedom of speech "à la Alternate Brain". Or GW Bush - you know, "the enemies of our friends are our enemies" and all that American crap.

Don't bother blocking me, I certainly won't be back again. I can't speak for WhyNot, but I know him pretty well by now, and I can safely assume you won't need to delete/block him either.

So long. Have fun with Cirze since she is apparently right up your "friend alley".

  5. Nunya,

I'm afraid I concur with Deidra all along the line. Pity cuz I met many American fascist cunts in the blogosphere, but I never thought you were part of that dubious "elite". However, clearly I was mistaken.

One thing puzzles me though: you talk about deleting/blocking ppl who attack your "blogger friends", and since you mention "you two", I'm clearly in that "delete category".

This makes me rather confused. I thought I was "one of your friends". Or was it a figment of my fertile imagination, lol? If so... what gives? I'm supposed to be one of your "blogger friends", and yet you'll delete my comments and block me if I dare fight my own battles with a person who profoundly offends me. Wow! Some fucking logic here!

Next time I write to Stiletto and Valérie, I'll be sure to tell them to read your outstanding arguments. I'm sure they'll be impressed, lol.

But hey, like the saying goes, "win some, lose some", right? That applies to friends (and enemies) quite well.

I know that both Stiletto and Valérie liked you very very much. But, hazard a guess as to how they'll feel now...

Still... no woking furries, as we say down-under, you'll still have your wonderful and oh-so-assiduous friend Cirze.

    Adieu!

PS: thanks for your research on Sarah Fogarty.

    1. What is wrong with you two? "Freedom of speech?" How about not attacking my friends for wishing me a Happy New Year? Usually the people who bother to take the time to comment on this obscure little blog are on my blogroll, and there are no right wing assholes on my blogroll, and because it's so little, it doesn't attract the ire of right wing assholes, so don't go looking for a fight here. All I said was stop attacking my friends. I happen to be right in line with many of Cirze's posts, and if you bothered to click on the name link and read her blog instead of misinterpreting a quick little comment, you might see that you do also. Don't drive away the little traffic that this blog gets. It's not the first time you have attacked someone on my blogroll and I just don't see the point. If you just want some American punching bags because you have no respect for them then go find them elsewhere.

As for Sarah Fogarty, there are many people in this country with that name, and who knows? Maybe she's married and changed her name. What's the deal? No Google in France? That's about all I can do is Google her.

  6. Nunya,

Ok, I've cooled down. I have a large olive branch at hand; I even decorated with ribbons; Huge fluorescent pink ones, lol. Would you accept it?

Mind you, my opinion about Cirze hasn't changed much; however, I'll refrain from making any further comment about & to her.

    Deal?

If yes, here is a comment about a film Deidra and I just watched: "The Gauntlet". Starring Clint Eastwood.

Mmmm... ok, the film isn't exactly lousy, but it sure ain't very good either. The main problem is the unbelievably ridiculous persistance with which there are at least 1/2 a dozen scenes lasting at least 5 minutes each, and during which a minimum of 100 automatic firearms are constantly firing on the same minuscule target.

When I say "constantly", I mean that each shooting rampage must emit at least 100,000 fucking bullets. Don't the cops in USA take lessons on how to shoot (and reach) a target?

The last one tops it all: it goes on for about 15 minutes with about 10,000 trigger-happy moronic cops shooting the bus which Clint and his girlfriend Gus are driving; this, right in the middle of a large US city (Phoenix), no kidding.

They're so fucking stupid they don't even think of shooting the tyres, which would instantly immobilize the bus; instead, they shred that huge white elephant to pieces, and even then, they still don't manage to hit either Clint nor Gus!!!

Naturally, the inevitable cop helicopter enters the scene: they chase Clint and Gus who are on a motorbike, and have a marksman with a rifle with magnifier on board the helicopter. But he too shoots like a retarded one-legged hippo, and after at least 10 minutes of repeated salvos, still can't hit either hero, lol. Plus they manage to get entangled in high-voltage power lines and blow up mid-air. Yummy explosion!

But the good thing is: all those trigger-happy scenes are so grotesque they become actually hilarious. Nearly as funny as a Marx Brothers movie.

However, the background music is great (lots of jazz and blues), and I enjoyed watching the girlfriend Gus semi naked (great lil boobs, great legs, cute face), although, for some inexplicable reason, Deidra didn't see anything worth watching at all. Go figure. Doh! Women, lol!

    Be well.

  7. Just because the US churns out a gazillion movies a year doesn't mean they are GOOD ones and I don't judge French police by French movies. Anyway, I dunno why nobody ever shoots the tires out in movies. Probably It would raise production costs because It would actually damage the vehicles and insurance costs because there is actually somebody driving those vehicles who might be hurt if said vehicle were actually damaged. Frankly, we have agreed that most action flicks have far too much violence. I usually get bored when there are too many car chases, fights, gunfights.

  8. Nunya,

"Probably It would raise production costs because It would actually damage the vehicles and insurance costs..."

Well, that reasoning make no sense whatsoever; the cost of 4 new tyres is a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of replacing the entire bodywork shred to pieces.

Anyaway, doesn't matter, all in all the movie is still entertaining enough. 6/10 from me.

Well, it's fucking raining again in my little hole town. It's quite astounding, really: we're only about 500km west of the Côte d'Azur (= Riviera) where it only rains 3 times a year. Here it's 3 times a week, all year long. I know that you have a similar situation in CA, between San Diego and Seattle, but at least there you're talking about 3000 km separating the 2 locations, i.e. 6 times the distance.

  9. Nunya,

"Just because the US churns out a gazillion movies a year doesn't mean they are GOOD"

On the subject, here is a fantastic US movie: "The Terminal". "Terminal" refers to "airport terminal", in this case JFK's in NYC.

The main character is quite a famous American actor, but I'm sorry to say I already forgot his name, doh. He is nothing short of a genius in his very demanding and unusual role.

But my favorite character in the film is Amelia, who is an air hostess in the movie. She's not only a fantastic actress, but has to be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen on screen. I'm sorry to say, but I also forgot her name as an actress, lol.

Her facial traits are unusual: she looks like a cross between Asian and European, which I guess is not so extraordinary since Asia and Europe are actually the same one mega-continent.

In any case, she not only has a beautiful face, but her body is clearly a good match for it. You don't get to see her nekked, very unfortunately, but thanks to her tight-fitting and above-the-knee skirt, one is left in no doubt as to the outstanding treasures of sexy beauty wrapped in that air hostess outfit. YUM YUM!!!

Anyway, the 2 of them happen to meet at the terminal several times, and grow very fond of each other. And you/me/the watcher, can't help foreseeing a happy couple on the horizon.

However, that is not to be; not that the film ends with doom and gloom - not at all, quite the contrary, in fact. But, in case you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil it by telling you the ending in advance.

All in all, I give it 9.5/10. And I give Amelia 15/10, lol.

  10. Nunya,

"I'm sorry to say, but I also forgot her name as an actress, lol."

Catherine Zeta-Jones. Yes, she is an extraordinarily beautiful woman. Mind you, I'm seriously thinking of castrating WhyNot for raving on & on about "the outstanding treasures of sexy beauty wrapped in that air hostess outfit."

Another wonderful American movie we watched recently is "That Darn Cat". Dates quite a bit (1960s), but is a great blend of suspense and utterly hilarious goofy fun.

The hero in the story, and by far the best looking individual in my opinion, is the gorgeous 4 year-old Siamese cat. Those stunning blue eyes are just magical. WhyNot seems to think the young blonde woman, older sister of the teenage girl heroin of the story, is even much more of a stunning creature. Doh!

Have you ever heard of the "Old Cow Theory"? There is an excellent American movie about it, forget the name now. I think WhyNot has a severe case of the "Old Cow Disease", hence the urgent need for me to sharpen my butcher knife.

    Be well.

  11. hmm, Im sorry to say it, but I have been watching documentaries and tv shows on netflix. I do remember "That Darn Cat" because we would watch "The Wonderful World of Disney" every Sunday night and mom would make popcorn. It's one of the few really good memories I have of the stepmonster. Not so monsterish when she was making popcorn for the famly on Sun nights.

    WhyNot,
right now and for the last few days it has been warm and very dry. We have gotten less than 2 inches of rain for at least a few years. This may sound like heaven, but the fire danger is quite frightening when you live with it all the time. There always seems to be some idiot who throws a lit cig butt out the window on the freeway and starts a brush fire on the side of the fwy. The $500 fine for littering can't prevent every moron from doing stupid shit. It's supposed to be 81 (F) today and all of my shorts are packed for "winter" lol. Weird weather again this year.

  12. Deidra,

"I think WhyNot has a severe case of the "Old Cow Disease", hence the urgent need for me to sharpen my butcher knife."

Lolol, no need: to start with, you definitely don't qualify for the dubiously honorable title of "Old Cow". Only Jeanette Lucey deserves this flattering epithet. Next, I'm not letting you anywhere near me armed with a butcher knife or a scalpel.

    Nunya,

"documentaries and tv shows on netflix"

What's "netflix"? Like PBS? Or Cinemax, lol?

I hear what you say about "warm + dry + firebugs cretins". It's the same on the "Côte D'Azur" (i.e. what you guys call the Riviera) and Provence " (the region inland just north of the Côte d'Azur). Every single year, thousands of hectares of forest go up in smoke, and several houses turn to ashes; A few lives are sometimes also lost.

Still, I'd rather live on The Côte d'Azur any day rather than this dreaded shithole region of France I've been rotting in for nearly 5 years, and where it rains 3 times a week all fucking year long, except in January when instead of rain, we get 50 cm (~ 2 feet) of fucking snow all over town.

Back to the forest fires: do you guy have those planes called "Canadair", that scoop tons of water by flying low and skimming the surface of a lake or even sea? Over the sea is very dangerous because of the waves, but those clever Canadian engineers designed an created a true marvel of aircraft technology which can do just that (i.e scoop water into their bellies by skimming on the water surface, even in zones of the sea with mildish waves, as is usually the case near the shoreline).

They've been in use for many decades on the Riviera, and not one single one ever had a failure nor an accident.

They are absolutely wonderful, for 2 reasons: 1) they carry several tons of water in their "bellies", water with some "flame retardant" chemical additives, and which they can drop in less than 5 seconds, 2) they can reach ANY kind of terrain; hills, mountains, etc, makes no difference to them - whereas firetrucks would be completely unable to access those places. This is invaluable on the Riviera cuz it's ALL hills and mountains.

I'm sure they're not cheap, but then again, atomic fucking bombs ain't either, right?
